1999 Gracia
The 1999 Gracia is made from a blend of 90%
Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. The wine is
aged in 100% new oak and is bottled without
fining or filtration. There are approximately
425 cases produced. The dense, gorgeously
perfumed 1999 boasts notes of jammy cherries
infused with licorice, smoke, and minerals.
It possesses layers of concentration, low
acidity, and tremendous purity as well as
length. It is nearly as glorious as the 1998
and 2000. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2020

1999 Gracia
Good full ruby. Spicy black cherry, raspberry
coulis, mocha and sexy oak on the nose. Terrific
intensity and brightness in the mouth, with
vibrant cherry and dark chocolate flavors
and powerful underlying spine. Seems a bit
less consistently ripe and less confectionery
than the '00, but finishes very long and
subtle, with big tannins spreading out to
coat the cheeks. 90-92 points
