と答えるかもしれません。それほどまでに官能的で外れが少なく、みんなを満足させる能力があると考えるからです。
基本的にテンプラニーニョから造られるウニコは、英語の「ユニーク」と同義で、「唯ひとつの〜」という意味です。また、ウニコが造られるのは良い葡萄が採れたヴィンテージのみ、しかもリリースまでに最低10年は掛かるという、モンスター級でもあります。
とは言え、そうそう手が出る価格帯じゃ無いですよね。でも何かの記念になるヴィンテージにこのウニコが造られていたら、セラーに保存しておくことをお奨めします。ワインはこんなに香るものだったんだ、とか、こんなに余韻が長いなんて！と、初めてワインにのめり込んだ時のことを思い出させてくれると思います。

The renowned Unico (produced from 80-100 year old vines) is one of the world's
most distinctive, singular wines. Always released late, it is incredibly fresh,
and capable of 2-3 more decades of evolution. The sensational 1989 Unico Reserva
boasts a dark ruby/purple color as well as a sweet, fragrant bouquet of plums,
black currants, vanilla, caramel, and chocolate. It possesses tremendous
density, an opulent, textured, full-bodied palate, great purity, and moderate
tannin in the 60+ second finish. It needs another 3-4 years of cellaring, and
should keep for 25-30 years.

The current release of Vega Sicilia’s flagship offering, the 1991 Unico
Reserva, will have to satisfy lovers of this great Spanish red until the
1994 is released in 2005. The 1991 is a gorgeous, deep ruby/purple-colored,
remarkably youthful effort offering sweet vanilla notes intertwined with
black currants, cherry liqueur, flowers, spice box, and tobacco leaves.
Full-bodied and intense, with sweet tannin, outstanding density as well
as purity, and a layered mouthfeel, this unevolved 1991 needs another 3-4
years of cellaring; it should last for 20-25 years. It’s a wine of great
elegance as opposed to power.
