アマローネは買えないけど、何とかその雰囲気だけでも．．という方、ヴァルポリの持つ複雑さを素直に楽しめるのがこのワインです。
もし、クインタレッリやこのロマーノのヴァルポリチェッラを飲まれた経験が無い方は、「何であの安ワインがこんなに高いの？」と思われるかもしれませんが、両者のものは全く別の次元のワインです。これに続くのはアレッグリーニさん位．．。薄くて若飲みのヴァルポリでは有りません。完売必至です。
The 1996 Valpolicella is amazing. Readers
will have to redefine their definition of
Valpolicella to understand this blockbuster.
The color is a dense purple. The bouquet
offers glorious levels of blackberry and
cherry fruit intertwined with vanilla, minerals,
lead pencil shavings, and spice. The wine
is full-bodied and voluptuously-textured,
with sweet tannin and a seamless finish.
It is an enormous yet incredibly symmetrical
Valpolicella to drink over the next 2-5 years;
it will last for 15-18 years.

The outrageous 1997 Amarone (17.5% alcohol) was aged 28 months in 100% new
French oak. An inky/purple color is followed by sumptuous aromas of blueberry
liqueur intermixed with truffle, graphite, camphor, and vanilla scents. This
remarkable offering is immensely full-bodied and super-concentrated, with great
purity, symmetry, and length. It is the stuff of legends! How long will it last?
Who knows? Certainly this wine is capable of evolving for 15-20 years.

【ロマーノのヴァルポリチェッラには．．いつも驚かされます 】
未テイスティングですが、本当に手強い．．。ん？何の話かって？そりゃそうですよね、読んでいる方はそんな書き出しでやられた日にゃ、額に皺を寄せてしまいますよね．．。
このロマーノのヴァルポリチェッラはブラインドで出してはいけません。こんなの反則技です。悩みに悩み抜いて結局見当はずれの結論に達することが多いです。最も、折に触れて言っているように、
「フランスかイタリアかで悩んだらヴァルポリの可能性を探る」
ことが重要です．．。
一体何の為に誰に向かって書いているのか判りませんが、要は、その位エレガンスが有り、複雑な要素と外向的なスタイルを持ち、バランスに優れ、長い余韻を感じて暫く話すことが出来なくなるほどの素晴らしいワインだ．．ということを、全く読者の事を考え無い独善的な視点で書くとこうなります．．。
高くなってきているとは言え、まだ手の届く価格のワインです。意外にも、イタリアの田舎ワインとしてしか認識されていない方も多いと思いますが、長熟で世界に浸透している数少ないワインでも有ります。是非一度、ブラインドのワイン会にご出品下さい、もとい、非ブラインドでしたね、はい。もっとも、ボトルの形で判ってしまうことも有りますので．．。

超複雑でスパイシー！柔らかさとしなやかさを持つスーパー・ヴァルポリチェッラです。
知らない方へ、少しばかりですがイントロを．．。ダル・フォルノ・ロマーノはこれまた偉大なジュゼッペ・クインタレッリに師事し、今ではヴェネトを代表する、もしくはイタリアを代表する造り手になっています。彼の造るアマローネは．．化け物です．．。（飲料では無く食物という表現が正しいかも！）
この９５年のヴァルポリはかなり前に飲んでいますが、スパイシーなフレーヴァーから飛び出してくる、認識し言葉に出来るアイテム数の多さに、まずびっくりしました。この年のアマローネはアドヴォケイト９８点でしたが、化け物よりもサラブレッドに手綱を付ける方が楽ちんです。９５年と言ってもそろそろ１０年経つわけですので、その頃の印象から少し変わってきているでしょう。勿論複雑さはその輝き方を変えているでしょう。
また、ヴァルポリチェッラと言っても、安いワインが沢山有ります。その当たりとは同じ名前のワインですが、全く別物．．です。もし経験が無いようでしたら、是非一度．．試してみて戴きたい物です。

The 1995 Valpolicella is an amazing effort, with an opaque dark ruby color, as
well as an explosive nose of smoke, earth, jammy berry and blackberry fruit,
great richness and purity, full body, and abundant glycerin and intensity.
Remarkably, there is little evidence of new oak, even though the wine spent 36
months in barrel before being bottled without filtration. It tips the scales at
a whopping 14.5% alcohol, high for Valpolicella. It should drink well for 10-15
years.

そうは「スコン」と抜栓できません。３０年は充分持つに違いない、世界を代表するワインです。アパッシメント（陰干し）で濃度と複雑さを出しています。滅茶苦茶濃いワインです。
ところで、アドヴォケイト誌もイタリアはＰＫさんからダニエル・トーマスさんに担当が代わり、それに伴って基準も変わったようです。

と、ＰＫさんのオーバー９６が当たり前だった視点から、少し引いたところに移りました。このダニエル・トーマスさんですが、冷静な目をお持ちのようです。時にはそれが慎重すぎるポイントになってしまうことも有るようですが（クレリコのコラム参照）、理解されない１００点近くを連発するよりは良いかもしれません。
このクラスのワインは、どなたでも飲める価格にはなりえませんが、数人で集まるワイン会の締めには、最高の演出となるでしょう。気難しいボルドー・グランヴァンよりも扱いは優しく味わいは優れています。機会がありましたら．．飲んでみてください。

The 1998 Amarone della Valpolicella Vigneto di Monte Lodoletta is a supreme
example of this wine, almost overwhelming in its aromatic impact, luxuriously
sweet, ripe, jammy, and chocolatey, mouthfilling and powerful in flavor, broad
and caressing, solid and sustained from the attack to the lengthy, lingering
finish, superbly shaped and balanced, pedal to the floor power and shapely
elegance all in one package. The score is probably too conservative, but it can
easily be checked over the next 25 years.

【ロマーノのヴァルポリチェッラは別格です。RWG8号で 90-92 戴きました．．】
９９年はとても出来が良いようです。９８年、９７年よりも良いかも知れませんね。それだけに現状は結構バラバラ．．です。抜栓後、３０分ほどで少々膨らみも出るし、まとまってきますが、今飲むのは厳しいですね。
深く落ち込んでゆく底なしのブラックフルーツにスパイス、ミネラル。口に含むと暴れてちょっとキツイ。アルコール分の高さと果実味の多さ、酸度の適切さは感じるものの、本当にバラバラ。2年ほど置くと、とても秀逸な味わいに激変するだろう。
今飲んで 88、 ポテンシャル 92 飲み頃 2006 - 2014 と言ったところでしょう。素晴らしい！けど、飲み方は注意してくださいね。
P.S. リアルでは 90-92 とのことで．．テイスターの皆さんは優しい方が多いです．．というより、ワインが若くて、ちょっと厳しさが有っても美味しく感じてしまう．．という、とてもヘビーなワインラヴァーなのでしょう．．。

Romano Dal Forno’s Valpolicella bottling regularly shows an intensity,
muscularity, and length which most Amarone cannot match, and the 1999
Valpolicella Vigneto di Monte Lodoletta, though not at the enviable level which
this wine reaches in warmer, less rainy vintages, is still pretty impressive
stuff. Potent and penetrating in aroma, with ample and ripe notes of plums,
blackberries, and black cherries, it is a strapping, deep, and sustained wine
which needs to shed a bit of its youthful exuberance and untamed force. When it
does, the score could well seem unnecessarily prudent. Drink: 2006-2015.

【とても希少な アパッシメントによるデザートワインです。】
甘いワインに興味のない方が多いですから仕方のないことかも知れませんが、いつかきっと気が付くときがあると思っています。
「甘いものは嫌いだ」
と粋がってみたところで（ noisy がそうでした．．）、結局は甘みに惹かれていることに気が付いていないだけ．．なんじゃないかと、拙い経験からですが思ってしまいます。極論ですが世の中の食物・飲料から甘みを全て取ってしまったら、こんなに味気ないことはありません。また、極僅かな甘みが、味わいを大きくすることもあります。この、「甘いワイン」ですが、良くできた極甘のワインは、以外に思われるかもしれませんが、食中酒として最適で有る場合が多いです。機会があったらやってみてくださいね。
ところで、このネッターレですが、ガルガーネガ種を主体にアパッシメント（陰干し）の技術を用いて造られた、デザートワインです。柑橘系の香りや南国のフルーツ、スパイス、そして甘みと酸味が口の中を満たします。９５年を飲んだときは．．とても幸せな気持ちになれました。
noisy の場合は、柑橘系などと簡単に書いていますが、これとて実に複雑で．．あんまり書くと嫌みになるので書かないようにしています。1988年、1990年、
1994年、 1995年、 1997年と、今までに５回のみ、良年だけにリリースされます。素晴らしいです。冷たくしてお楽しみ下さい。
